Genetic prediction becomes a social ranking system that narrows possibility.

The film imagines a society that uses genetic information to sort people before their choices can be observed. Its central critique is not that biology is irrelevant, but that probabilistic information becomes unjust when treated as destiny.

Meritocracy appears fair because it translates hierarchy into measurement. Yet a ranking system can conceal who selected the traits, how uncertainty is handled, and whether people can contest the label assigned to them.

The speculative premise is not a forecast that genes determine character or achievement. It is a warning about institutions that convert risk estimates into restrictions on education, employment, or dignity.

Agency matters, but it does not mean everyone can overcome any barrier through will. A just system allows people to be more than a prediction while addressing unequal resources and opportunity.

Where do I treat a risk estimate about a person as if it were the same thing as knowing their future?
