Weaver Bird
Many weaver birds build intricate nests by interlacing plant fibers.
The Biological Miracle: Weaver birds use their bills and feet to knot, weave, and tighten grasses into hanging nests. Designs vary by species, and nest architecture can influence protection, ventilation, and access for mates or offspring.
The Philosophical Mirror: Skill does not have to begin as abstract planning. A complex structure can emerge from evolved behavior, individual adjustment, and repeated interaction with materials.
The Human Takeaway: We often reserve the word intelligence for designs that resemble our own. What forms of competence do I overlook because they are expressed through bodies and materials unlike mine?
