Sea Otter
Some sea otters use rocks as tools and may keep preferred stones in loose skin folds.
The Biological Miracle: Sea otters use rocks to break open hard-shelled prey, often resting a stone on the chest while floating. Individuals may reuse favored tools, though carrying and use vary across animals and populations.
The Philosophical Mirror: A tool extends a body's ability while also becoming part of its habits. Skill is not located only in the hand or the stone, but in the practiced relation between them.
The Human Takeaway: Objects we rely on can become part of how we think and act. Which tools in my life extend my abilities, and what would become difficult if I lost access to them?
